{"id":490,"date":"2018-12-05T15:37:36","date_gmt":"2018-12-05T20:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/urbannaturestore.blog\/?p=490"},"modified":"2018-12-05T15:37:36","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T20:37:36","slug":"janes-deck-of-birds-downy-woodpecker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.mppdev.net\/index.php\/2018\/12\/05\/janes-deck-of-birds-downy-woodpecker\/","title":{"rendered":"Jane&#8217;s Deck of Birds &#8211; Downy Woodpecker"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Downy Woodpeckers are the best known Woodpeckers in North America.&nbsp; You can find them throughout Canada and the USA.&nbsp; They are smallest woodpecker in North America measuring only 6-7 inches.&nbsp; Downies have a white breast, black cheek, black wings with white spots, and a white patch on it&#8217;s back.&nbsp; &nbsp;The male has a solid red patch on its head which distinguishes him from the female as she doesn&#8217;t have one.&nbsp; Some people confuse the Downy and Hairy Woodpecker as they look similar.&nbsp; The Hairy Woodpecker is larger measuring 9 1\/2 inches in length and has a much longer beak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/urbannaturestore.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/img_2663.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-494\" width=\"417\" height=\"557\" \/><figcaption>Photo Credits &#8211; Jane Paradis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Downies are curious birds who are eager to check out any kind of feeder.&nbsp; They particularly like peanut halves, sunflower seed, suet, and peanut butter. The&nbsp;<em>Brome Bird Care Peanut Plus&nbsp;<\/em>is a favorite of theirs, and it keeps the squirrels away.
