{"id":1371,"date":"2021-05-12T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/urbannaturestore.blog\/?p=1371"},"modified":"2021-05-12T13:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-05-12T17:00:00","slug":"its-a-full-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.mppdev.net\/index.php\/2021\/05\/12\/its-a-full-house\/","title":{"rendered":"It\u2019s a Full House!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The month of May is like Christmastime for birders.\u00a0 Migration is in full swing and we\u2019re seeing our tropical coloured birds returning to our gardens.\u00a0 The orioles, rose-breasted grosbeaks and hummingbirds are back.\u00a0 Take some time to visit your local parks and conservation areas to see the many amazing, vibrant warblers passing through during the month of May.\u00a0 This chance only comes once a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%;\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%;\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-gallery-masonry\"><div class=\"coblocks-gallery has-caption-style-dark has-gutter\"><ul class=\"has-grid-lrg has-gutter-10 has-gutter-mobile-15\"><li class=\"coblocks-gallery--item\"><figure class=\"coblocks-gallery--figure\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/test.mppdev.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/hooded-warbler-1.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1378\" data-imglink=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1378\" \/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"coblocks-gallery--item\"><figure class=\"coblocks-gallery--figure\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/test.mppdev.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/yellow-warbler-with-nesting-material-1.jpg?w=240\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1382\" data-imglink=\"\" data-link=\"https:\/\/urbannaturestore.blog\/yellow-warbler-with-nesting-material-1\/\" class=\"wp-image-1382\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You will want to make sure your feeders are clean and full.\u00a0 Keep in mind that there are ground feeders such as the white-throated and white-crowned sparrows who spend time with us before heading further north to their breeding grounds.\u00a0 If you\u2019re spending time cleaning your garden, leave an area to sprinkle some seed on the ground for these birds.\u00a0 You will be rewarded by hearing the relaxing melodies of their beautiful songs.\u00a0 If you listen carefully you will hear the white-throated sparrow sing, \u2018<em>sweet, sweet, Canada Canada Canada\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/urbannaturestore.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/white-throated-sparrow-1.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1374\" width=\"382\" height=\"306\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven\u2019t done so already, it\u2019s time to put your birdbath out.\u00a0 Offering water for the birds will attract species who don\u2019t dine at your feeders.\u00a0 Consider adding a solar powered bubbler to go with your birdbath.\u00a0 Birds love the sound of moving water.\u00a0 When considering where to place a birdbath there are a few things to think about.\u00a0 Birds naturally look for water sources close to the ground so you may want to keep the bath one to three feet off the ground.\u00a0 After bathing they need a place to perch and preen their feathers.\u00a0 If you can situate the birdbath close to trees or shrubs you will give them easy access to nearby branches .\u00a0 If your birdbath is deeper than two inches, place a rock or some pebbles in the base to help the smaller birds feel safe while drinking and bathing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/urbannaturestore.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/american-redstart.jpg?w=240\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1376\" width=\"372\" height=\"465\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re hiking or relaxing in your backyard, stop and take time to enjoy this magical time of year.&nbsp;
